The Artwork
The Wild Things from Maurice Sendak's classic book greet you as you enter the room.
This was the first time Mr. Sendak authorized use of his work as public art.
Michael Hagen, the scenic artist responsible for rendering Mr. Sendak's stage and set designs, produced the artwork.
Special Features
The Bristow-Marchant Storytime Room features an ornate puppet stage.
The Homework Center offers word processing and more.
The Listening Center provides a special place where children can listen to their favorite books.
A special area filled with puzzles and stuffed animals for the very young.
The Craft Area is located in a park-like setting where children can let their imagination run wild.
Nuts and Bolts
The Children's Room is 20,000 square feet. The collection holds more than 100,000 volumes of books and materials for children.
