"An Egg a Day": The Extraordinary Eggs of Phil Burns
Submitted by hmccue on Mon, 11/21/2011 - 8:18pm
Eggs are extraordinary! They're like a present, waiting to be opened. What will be inside? Will it be a chick, a duck or a crocodile like Guji Guji? Eggs are a surprise that encourage you to dream. A snake might hatch from an egg Except If it's a lizard. Eggs are questions. Like how many eggs does it take to make The Perfect Nest? Can an egg fly or will an Egg Drop? Eggs, like books, are full of endless possibilities. Artist, Phil Burns, imagined the possibilities of eggs--at least 3,500 different possibilities. Visit the Gallery of the Main Library through March 4, 2012 and see the "An Egg a Day" exhibit for a look at an extraordinary project created by an extraordinary imagination. You can also experience the exhibit with our scavenger hunt, make your own artistic egg creation in the Children's Room and check out some of our extraordinary egg books. So, Hatch! your creativity and eggs-plore the possibilities of eggs! |
