The Cooper Branch is conveniently located about a block from the intersection of Forest Drive and Trenholm Road. For those traveling from I-77, take the Strom Thurmond Boulevard Exit to Forest Drive. (Map)

Branch Services

  • An auditorium with a seating capacity of 50 (Request a Meeting Room Reservation)
  • A medium sized collection of books and materials
  • Books on tape and books on CD
  • Music CDs and cassettes
  • Videos and DVDs
  • Magazines and newspapers
  • Public access computers with online databases
  • Internet access (Wireless access is now available)
  • Word processing
  • Programs for children are offered throughout the year.

If the materials you need are not located at the Cooper Branch, you may place the items on hold and have them sent from the Main Library or any of the other branches to the Cooper Branch.

About the Branch

The Cooper Branch Library is a midsize branch originally opened in 1961 as a gift from the Cooper family in memory of John Hughes Cooper.

Fun Things to Do With Your Dog - for ages 5 and up Registration is required
Join Phyllis Beasley, assistant trainer with Pawsitive Results, LLC and her Shetland Sheepdog, Laddie, as they use tricks and a Rally Obedience demonstration to provide information on responsible dog ownership. Children will also learn tricks to teach their own dogs.
