What would you do if you were suddenly thrust back to the year 1763? Your time traveling companion is a person you just met. Who could you trust? How can you blend in when your clothes look so different, and your speech sounds so odd? How can you get back the object that you think is the time machine that took you away? Peter and Kate must face these problems, robbers and outlaws in a quest to return home and not allow people from the past to change their world and alter the future. For more timely adventure, check out book 2, The Time Thief. The third in this trilogy is to be published soon.

RCPL Staff TaggerungSubmitted by David Munn Cars... on 11:33 am, Sunday, August 16Review:
If you like action/ cliffhangers then this book, Taggerung: A Tale from Redwall, is for you. It is a book that I would recommend to kids between 9 and 15. It is very well-written and it has an interesting plot and characters. I think that, for a book to be good, it has to be well-written because it could have an interesting plot, but if it's not well-written, then everything falls apart.

6 Harry Potter and The Half Blood PrinceSubmitted by Mds4boys on 7:01 pm, Saturday, August 15Review:
I thought this was a really good book. The book had like a really good hook. It made you want to keep reading, even if you haven't read the other books. I wanted to figure out what Voldemort was going to do next. In this book, Harry was different. He seemed to only care about Ginny, Ron's sister. Most of the book was about the relationships surrounding Harry. Everyone was older. Harry was like the chosen one and he was going back in memories with Dumbledore. They were trying to figure out things about Tom Riddle. This book wasn't based on Quidditch like the others. It wasn't all about the competition like the others. Overall, it was really good book. I would recommend it to everyone, even those who don't like Harry Potter. I read it and I don't even like the series. Reviewer's Name:

7th EragonSubmitted by Elijah D on 8:01 pm, Wednesday, August 12Review:
Eragon by Christopher Paolini is just about the best book I have ever read. This book takes fantasy and adventure to a whole new level. In this book, the world looks like ours, sounds like ours but has some pretty big twists to it such as; magic, the types of characters and creatures, and the amazing battles that take place there. Everything about the book just makes you want to keep reading and reading and reading. Magic is one of the things that make this book unique beyond any other book. Now you may think that, "Oh well, that’s not unique. There’s Harry Potter and things like that." Well there is stuff similar to Harry Potter like using magic to fight, to escape, and just to make life easier; but the way the book Eragon incorporates it is far different. If a character tries to use a spell that is beyond their abilities, then they would be killed. Also the harder a spell is the more energy it takes from its user. The magic in Eragon is one of the most interesting parts of the book. On top of the magic, another interesting part of the book is all the different characters and creatures (whichever you would like to call them, you’ll see what I mean soon enough). In the book, there are Dragons, Elves, Shades, Dwarves, Urgals/Kull, the Dragon Riders, and the Raz’zac. The Dragon Riders were formed when the Elves formed a treaty with the Dragons that they would ride into battle together and protect the land. The main character Eragon is a Dragon Rider who grew up on a farm until his uncle was killed by the Raz’zac. Another neat kind of character is a Shade. Shades are formed when a magic user attempts an evil spell and that evil takes over their body. Last, but not least, the most exciting part(s) of the book is the battles. One of my favorite battles is when Eragon fights the evil Shade, Durza. I can’t tell much about the battles or it would spoil some surprises, but if you ever read this book don’t miss The Battle of Farthen Dur and the battle against the Kull (big Urgals/Orks). When I was reading this book, I just couldn’t stop. Whenever I could I would read, read and read. I would recommend this book to anyone (and when I say anyone, I mean anyone) and everyone who likes fantasy and adventure. Reviewer's Name:

6 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneSubmitted by ericf on 1:09 pm, Sunday, August 9Review:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was an outstanding book that I encourage many people to read. It was a book that had humor, fantasy, and excitement, all mixed together. This book was very tense and you never knew what was going to happen next, like when Gryffindor won the House Cup. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was written by J.K. Rowling in 1998. J.K. Rowling also has six other books in the Harry Potter series. I highly recommend this book to everyone who is willing to read it. Reviewer's Name:

6 Harry Potter and the Half- Blood PrinceSubmitted by AnnaRayfield on 5:06 pm, Monday, July 27Review:
This book is one of the best books I have ever read! It is thrilling, funny, sad, and very entertaining. So far, I have read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and now Harry Potter and the Half - Blood Prince. I skipped Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the book prior to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but I have no idea why. The Half-Blood Prince is about how Lord Voldemort is getting more powerful, and how Harry Potter has to learn how to defeat him. The key to defeating him is to have information about his past and use it against him. Harry finds an old Potions book that was property of the 'Half Blood Prince' and he learns new spells and cheats to get perfect grades in Potions. Harry finds out that when you kill someone your soul gets torn. So, he finds out that Voldemort's soul is ripped into 6 different parts. After your soul is ripped, you can put your soul in an object or animal. These objects or animals are called horcruxes. So, Harry and Dumbledore set out on a quest to find all 6 of Voldemort's horcruxes and destroy them. This way, it is easier to defeat him. Ron Weasley, Harry's best friend, makes the Quidditch team and he becomes more popular than he normally is. So, more girls like him. Lavender Brown becomes the lucky girl that becomes Ron's girlfriend. But their relationship is more about being seen with each other than getting to know each other. Hermione Granger, Harry's other best friend, gets in a fight with Ron because she likes him. They get into a big war, so Harry's life is even harder than it is normally. To make Harry's life even harder, he falls in love with Ron's sister, Ginny, who already has a boyfriend. So this book has many twists and turns. Some of the major events are when Death Eaters come into Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy, Harry's enemy at school, who was chosen to kill Dumbledore, and the Half - Blood Prince which turns out to be Snape. This book is one of the best books I have ever read.
