The Walker Local History room is on the third
level of the Main Library. Here you will find historical
and some current material focusing on Columbia, Richland County
and the surrounding counties of the Midlands. The collection
is selective, not exhaustive. Genealogical materials are limited.

for South Carolina are housed at the South Carolina Department
of Archives and History. Census reels for other states may
be ordered through the Richland County Public Library for

Local History Bibliographies
These materials may not be checked out; however, some are also available in the circulating collection. These bibliographies are lists of books and other reference material that we have at the library. We will be adding new bibliographies every few months.
