Let's Speak English

Let's Speak English ParticipantsRCPL's Let's Speak English program facilitates conversation among international adults and local volunteers. One hour conversation sessions allow internationals to practice speaking English in a relaxed environment. The program is not curriculum-based or skill-specific, and internationals are encouraged to suggest topics they could use assistance with (e.g., writing a business letter, studying for TOFL or citizenship) or bring in materials (e.g., English applications or forms).

In addition to the actual conversations, a typical weekly session includes reviewing library materials, announcements and time to visit with each other and enjoy refreshments. One of the biggest benefits to the program is the camaraderie that develops among the participants.

Classes are free but registration is required. For more information or to register, call the library location nearest you.
