Catalog Maintenance to Occur on September 4
The Richland County Public Library catalog and online account services will be unavailable on Sunday, September 4 for regularly scheduled maintenance. This maintenance coincides with RCPL's closing for Labor Day.
Library items can be renewed by calling 929-3425 or 929-3472. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
RCPL to Close for Labor Day
All Richland County Public Library locations will be closed Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6 for Labor Day. The library system will resume its regular business hours on Tuesday, September 7.
To renew materials, please visit www.myRCPL.com or call 929-3425 or 929-3427. Items can be returned using the book drops available at all 11 RCPL locations. >>Read more
RCPL’s Melanie Huggins Elected to ULC Board
Melanie Huggins, executive director of the Richland County Public Library, has been elected to the board of the Urban Libraries Council (ULC), an alliance of more than 180 metropolitan libraries and corporations committed to the best in public library service. The 16 member board works to further the ULC’s goals of building better neighborhoods and more capable cities. >>Read more
RCPL Hosts Book Signing with County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson
Join the Richland County Public Library for a book discussion and signing with Richland County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson, author of A Tribute to 101 Incredible Women of Distinction Who Influenced My Life From My House to the White House, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 12 at the Main Library, 1431 Assembly St. This program is free and open to adults.

The Search is on for the next Teen Idol
Are you RCPL’s next Teen Idol? Find out by singing in RCPL’s Teen Idol, a vocal competition just for teens! Quilters of Gee’s Bend to Visit Columbia
The Richland County Public Library will host the Quilters of Gee’s Bend, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 2 at the Koger Center for the Arts, in downtown Columbia. Hear from several of these endearing women as they share their personal stories and the history behind the art of their quilt making. The event is free and open to families but space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. >>Read more
