The Periodicals Department has subscriptions to more than
1,150 magazines that cover
a broad range of subject areas including the arts, social
sciences, sports, fashion, hobbies and crafts, entertainment,
sciences, current news and events, business, technology,
religion and consumer issues.
The latest issue of most magazines is available on the white
display shelves in the Periodicals
Department The Periodicals Department. retains the current
and prior years for the majority of current magazine subscriptions.
Most periodicals at Main Library are non-circulating, with
the exception of children’s and large print magazines
(all but most recent issue), young adult magazines and duplicate
issues of National Geographic Magazine,
which may be circulated for one week. To determine the extent
of holdings for an individual title, use the library
catalog. On the Search screen drop-down menu
select “Periodicals Title Alphabetical,” then
type the name of the periodical in the blank and click “GO.”
