The Richland County Public Library subscribes to more than
130 newspapers. In addition to newspapers from each South
Carolina county, the collection includes newspapers from
51 major U.S. cities and five foreign cities as well as
nine foreign language newspapers. You may view a list
of these newspapers sorted by title or by location.
Except for The State, USA
Today, Wall Street Journal
and the Sunday Atlanta Journal Constitution,
all newspapers are delivered through the U.S. Post Office,
which means there will be a delay between the published date
and date received by the library.
Current newspapers can be found in four towers next to the
periodicals desk. Most newspapers are kept for one month in
the hanging files adjacent to the periodicals desk; however,
RCPL receives microfilm for several titles, including The
State (1891- present) and the New
York Times (1851- present). Periodicals Department
personnel provide assistance with microfilm machines.
Current business related newspapers, including Barron’s,
Wall Street Journal and Investor’s
Business Daily, are located in the Business
Reference Department on the third level. Back issues can
be found in the Periodicals Department’s hanging files.
