Sew Divine, A Gathering of Crafters is now being held at six library locations. The program allows adults to share craft projects, tips and ideas. Participants are also encouraged to browse the related books available at the library.
At several branches, Sew Divine participants have initiated group projects that help those in need. The Sew Divine group at Southeast Regional spent the summer knitting and crocheting more than 70 “chemo caps” for cancer patients at Palmetto Richland Hospital’s cancer center. This fall, the group has worked on blankets for a local homeless shelter.
The Sandhills Branch group recently completed three afghans for a local women’s shelter, and they have been knitting hats and booties for infants at local hospitals as well as matching mother-daughter hats and scarves for Sistercare.
Groups vary in size from five to 20 people. To participate or find our more, please call the library location nearest you.
